Our family of ten, including two small children and a baby, recently spent a week at House of Craigie celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday. I’m happy to report it was absolutely perfect and in fact exceeded even our high expectations. The location was fantastic with short drives to some of the best Troon area golf courses. Karen and Scott, the owners, were so kind and helpful. They and their cute dog, Dottie, live right on the property. The gardens are fantastic, the house itself is very comfortable with an indoor pool and game room that everyone enjoyed. Chef Philippe (recommended by Karen) cooked wonderfully for us every night. All in all, it was a perfect experience. Highly recommend!

A wonderful place for all our family to get together and share some quality time. Set in a beautiful location, the house felt like home. We all hope to return soon.

OUTSTANDING. Easily the best. Looking back over forty five years of self-catering in large holiday rentals, this was the best.
Superb when the weather was fine, even better when the gales blew in from the Western Isles and we could no longer see Ailsa Craig. That is when our three generations sat together in immense sofas before a roaring log fire and Grandpa sipped a single malt. Or two.
A beautifully furnished glorious early 1800s manse with delightful shuttered Georgian windows, a cantilever staircase rising from the large square entrance hall, a perfectly equipped big family kitchen, an immense dining room where sixteen could comfortably dine together, a magically atmospheric quiet sitting room and, at the far end of the house and out of earshot, an excellent games room and an indoor swimming pool that was warm and immaculate.
And the usually invisible very friendly owners were close at hand if we needed to consult them.

We had a super weekend at House of Craigie, catching up and even getting in a few rounds of golf, despite the weather. Luckily we'd seen the forecast and ventured out on the Saturday but actually quite enjoyed cosying up by the fire on the Sunday and hibernating from the weather. Despite having our kids in the house, they were hardly ever heard and were entertained greatly by all the facilities available to them - tennis in the sunshine and swimming pool/games room in the rain. They even had a few games of indoor hide and seek - a perfect venue for it (one of the children likening the bedrooms and wardrobes to those in Narnia! A few of the adults said they hadn't slept so soundly in ages - finding the beds really comfortable - and I myself slept like a log which, if you ask my husband, is a miracle in itself! A great weekend in a beautiful house in a great location. Just too short a stay - though there have been murmurings about booking House of Craigie again for the future. Many thanks again for sharing your house with us. You may well see us again in the near future.

The house fitted our needs perfectly for a family get-together celebrating our parents 70th birthdays, it provided plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining with some wow factor included. The pool gave the kids hours of fun.

We took the option of dining in and we were not disappointed by Wine and Dine. Philippe cooked our menu to perfection and we enjoyed the benefit of some of his knowledge about cooking and also his assistance in preparing the next day's rib of beef, Louise set the table and served the food and beverage immaculately, we did not even know she was there.

We had a fantastic time and we felt we marked the occasion with a very appropriate venue. We would definitely recommend House of Craigie and Wine and Dine. We will find an excuse to return in the not too distant future.

Thanks for all your help Karen.

Just returned home from what can only be described as the most fantastic holiday my family and I have enjoyed in years.

We arrived at the House of Craigie and immediately fell in love with the house, its location and the fantastic facilities (the fantastic weather also helped); we were greeted by Karen and Scott who gave really valuable hints on where we should visit and what we should see; we were always torn between staying and enjoying the house, the pool, the tennis court, the games room the lovely gardens or visiting the beautiful south west corner of Scotland.

We visited Culzean Castle, took a tour round the amazing and historical castle followed by a lovely relaxed walk around the swan lake down to the beach; here we enjoyed the glorious sunshine exploring the rock pools and relaxing.

We couldn't resist a trip to Arran (just a short drive and less than an hour on the ferry) where we visited Arran Brewery (I'm now a convert to Arran Ale and have ordered more as soon as we got home!), super arts and crafts stores and an amazing cheese shop selling the most delightful Arran cheeses.

All in All just the best holiday, many thanks to Scott and Karen for their kind hospitality; we will definitely return:)

I and 8 fellow golfers have just returned from a very relaxing stay at the House of Craigie. We have travelled extensively over the years on our annual golf tour and this is without doubt the best property we have stayed in.

Ideally located for all the wonderful courses situated in this part of Ayrshire but particularly Royal Troon, Prestwick and Western Gailes standout but with many others to enjoy.

With 8 bedrooms as well as the other extensive facilities the house is an ideal base for touring this area. Good value for a group and 5 star accommodation as well!

I wanted to say thank you on behalf of us all.

We had such a wonderful weekend, the house is absolutely stunning and such care is taken over it, this makes it so enjoyable to spend time in, the rooms and their layout were just perfect for us, so clean and tidy and loved. It was also an added bonus having the games room and the pool and the kids big and small both enjoyed this!

It was a pleasure dealing with you from the beginning to end, you made things very easy and nothing was a problem, I know I can ask a lot of questions. It can also be tricky when booking for so many people to keep everyone happy and you were able to do this for me which was amazing.

Favourite points, Loved having the aga it's just amazing maybe I can persuade my husband to get one in our house! HaHa

Thank your husband for bringing the wood over as well much appreciated.

Apologies for being a little over in leaving, the house is so welcoming that I don't think we realised how settled we had all got over the couple of days!

I would love to sort us out for next year so hopefully once I have everyone agreed I will be back in touch.

Thanks again for a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Also thank you for paying the housekeeping deposit back to everyone so quickly.

I would absolutely recommend House of Craigie - and have already to everyone I have spoken with.
