altJust returned home from what can only be described as the most fantastic holiday my family and I have enjoyed in years.

We arrived at the House of Craigie and immediately fell in love with the house, its location and the fantastic facilities (the fantastic weather also helped); we were greeted by Karen and Scott who gave really valuable hints on where we should visit and what we should see; we were always torn between staying and enjoying the house, the pool, the tennis court, the games room the lovely gardens or visiting the beautiful south west corner of Scotland.

We visited Culzean Castle, took a tour round the amazing and historical castle followed by a lovely relaxed walk around the swan lake down to the beach; here we enjoyed the glorious sunshine exploring the rock pools and relaxing.

We couldn't resist a trip to Arran (just a short drive and less than an hour on the ferry) where we visited Arran Brewery (I'm now a convert to Arran Ale and have ordered more as soon as we got home!), super arts and crafts stores and an amazing cheese shop selling the most delightful Arran cheeses.

All in All just the best holiday, many thanks to Scott and Karen for their kind hospitality; we will definitely return:)alt  Simon & Naomi

altOUTSTANDING. Easily the best. Looking back over forty five years of self-catering in large holiday rentals, this was the best.
Superb when the weather was fine, even better when the gales blew in from the Western Isles and we could no longer see Ailsa Craig. That is when our three generations sat together in immense sofas before a roaring log fire and Grandpa sipped a single malt. Or two.
A beautifully furnished glorious early 1800s manse with delightful shuttered Georgian windows, a cantilever staircase rising from the large square entrance hall, a perfectly equipped big family kitchen, an immense dining room where sixteen could comfortably dine together, a magically atmospheric quiet sitting room and, at the far end of the house and out of earshot, an excellent games room and an indoor swimming pool that was warm and immaculate.
And the usually invisible very friendly owners were close at hand if we needed to consult them.alt Grandpa Holt October 2013
